WORSHIP NOTE

We thank Charles Oroko, a senior engineering major at WWU, who shares his singing talents, and Schuan Carpenter, who leads the band.

Both sermon and anthem remind us that we all need quiet time in which to hear the still small voice of God. The quiet nature of summer in the Walla Walla Valley generally, and on this campus in particular, provides an especially good time for such reflection. It is our prayer that you will find healing and rest by spending quiet time in this quiet place today.

As we consider “The Sinner’s Need of Christ,” the topic of the second chapter of Steps To Christ, I decided to play a piano prelude, Hymn No.483 “I Need Thee Every Hour.” I grew up enjoying a recording of Kurt Kaiser playing this piece, and this is how I remember his arrangement.

-Kraig Scott
