THIS SABBATH
AT THE UNIVERSITY CHURCH
FAMILY OF GOD
This prayer list contains special requests made by our church family, community members, and their loved ones. If you have a concern to add, please contact the office at church@wallawalla.edu, 509.527.2800, or by dropping a Connect Card in an offering bag.
- Kraig Scott is recuperating from a successful planned surgery. He is looking forward to returning in the New Year.
- The holidays can be especially difficult for many people in our congregation. Please pray for those in our church family who are sick, grieving, or have experienced some kind of loss.
MUSIC NOTE
We wish all worshipers a warm Walla Walla welcome and a very blessed Christmas season. May you find here the warmth of fellowship and the blessing of the Holy Spirit as we worship God during this festive season. Please join me in thanking our musicians. Peter Gogl, a nurse at the Washington Odd Fellows’ Home, serves as guest organist. The Chung family recently relocated to Wenatchee. We are very grateful that Alyssa and Justin still attend college here and that their mother, Christine, can join them to provide beautiful music today.
In the prelude we hear three settings of the famous chorale,
“Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her” (From Heaven Above to Earth I Come”). I invite you to meditate on the first two stanzas of this hymn in the familiar translation of Catherine Winkworth (1855):
From heaven above to earth I come
To bear good news to every home;
Glad tidings of great joy I bring
Whereof I now will say and sing:
To you this night is born a Child
Of Mary, chosen mother mild;
This little Child, of lowly birth,
Shall be the joy of all your earth.
-Kraig Scott
GIVE
Thank you for your generosity to the ministry of the University Church. We are a community of faith that teaches people, young and old, how to follow Jesus. We do this through sacrificial investment in K–12 Christian education, excellence and beauty in worship services which are broadcast around the world, and outstanding generational ministries led by incredibly dedicated staff and volunteers. We are also moved by the gospel charge to reach those beyond our household of faith. Your gifts to the University Church budget make this world-changing work possible!
To donate to the University Church budget, mark your tithe envelope or give online via the website. Navigate to wwuchurch.com and click “Give.” You will be taken to the “Adventist Giving” portal where after logging in, you can set up a structured, recurrent, automatic giving plan.

Second service is live–streamed weekly in Heubach Chapel as an option for parents with young children who would find that location helpful. In addition, a toddler room is newly renovated, along with a private room for nursing mothers in the balcony. We offer multiple options for your comfort; all are welcome in the Sanctuary!
All of our services are translated live by native Spanish-speakers and are broadcast to handheld devices available to borrow at the information desk in the lobby. Please see a deacon at the desk on Sabbath to receive a device and instructions on how to use it.
